Arrived at Melchsee-Frutt (Switzterland) about 12. ITs not a very big resort and not that many tourists mostly local swiss that go there. Our party was there as one of the members worked in Switzterland for 9 years, was his local resort. It was good to have a translator as nothing at the resort was written in english. In the 5 days we was there never saw or heard another english person. As we arrived at 12 so it was a case of throwing stuff in the hotel rooms and getting all suited up for skiing and hitting the slopes.
Things always seem a bit weird at first after not having skied for a year then strapping some planks to your feet and heading at great speed down the mountain.
I could feel that I hadn't skied for a while could remmber most of it but the techque wasn't very good, legs and arms all over the place but came down in one peice without any falls. Was told when at the bottem other than the off-piste(more on off-piste in next entries) I'd just come down the hardest runs so that was bit of a boost.
A great first day
